One of a Kind

Acting and theater are his callings, and when it comes to knowing people he knows everyone you know, plus their second cousins. I love this first line!!!! If Ryan Tunick could use two words to describe himself, those words would be “teenage socialite”. Never refusing to speak the truth in any situation, Ryan tells anyone and everyone how it is in his eyes. Ryan portrays great potential with pursuing this is awkward to me - read it aloud and see what you think an acting career, and he is fully aware of that marvelous advantage. He memorizes script after script and is very determined when it comes to his theater work.Luckily his work has paid off with a new job at Saturday Night Live, which will leave him saying goodbye to University of Rhode Island and hello NYU.
The second I told Ryan I wanted to write a paper on him he jumped in his car and headed to campus. Entering my room in dark wash jeans, navy-blue loafers, a white v-neck t-shirt under his polo blue sweater trimmed with a white line, and of course his favorite ray-ban sunglasses. He sat in my chair and crossed his legs, placed his sunglasses carefully on my desk, looked up and said,
“Let’s begin with the best paper you’ll ever write in your lifetime.” One of the first things I quickly learned about Ryan when we first became acquainted in the beginning of the school year was that he simply knew just about everyone who attended URI, and everyone else they knew. This was something I found fascinating. Before I could get my first question out, Ryan already started the interview himself.
“I guess I’ll tell you the basics and everything you need to know about my wonderful life. As you know I am nineteen, five foot ten, dark hair, and great dark eyes. I like shopping and splurging on over expensive things I’ll wear once and forget I have. I love my ray-ban capitalize and italicize sunglasses and have a fetish with credit cards, I probably have six and I only use two of them. My mom is my favorite person and I talk to her every other hour. I also am living in New York City this summer and working for Saturday Night Live.”
The conversation continued for at least two more hours, and Ryan kept speaking without a breath in between each sentence. Form spelling the moment I met him I knew he was not only unique but someone I would have in my life forever. His brutal honesty and outrageous sarcasm are only two qualities on the long list of what makes him who he is.
I forgot a good rule about Ryan before he started talking, once he starts he never stops.
“I think this job from Saturday Night Live will be a life changing experience, my job is to look over the scripts and help write them for shows. I want to be a producer and I think this is the right step for someone brilliant like myself. I’ll be living in the fabulous New York City this summer and for the rest of my life, if life plays out the way it should for me. I’m not saying I’m not cocky at all I’m just great at what I do and I simply know it. But enough about that now, lets figure out when were going to the mall Morg.”A trip to the mall with Ryan is like Project Runway but instead of being hosted by the beautiful Heidi Klum, it is being hosted by Darth Vader. When Ryan does not think something looks good he will tell you in a cutthroat way. Not to say he is mean about his critiques, but according to Ryan he has the same saying for shopping and most problems in life, “When the shoe doesn’t fit, it just doesn’t fucking fit.”
I really want more than this. I think it is off to a great start - but I want more - How did he get the job in NY? What was his childhood like? Who does he hang around with? What does he do well, beside be sarcastic? More description, too - how do his hands move when he is speaking? Does he make faces? I want to know the tome of his voice - is it high? Low? More!!! Great start.
